    Hubo una boda en la Casa Blanca en este día, 2 de junio de 1886. Uno de los tres presidentes que se casaron mientras estuvieron en el poder y el único presidente que se casó en la Casa Blanca, Grover Cleveland se casó con Frances Folsom y juntos tuvieron cinco hijos. Cleveland fue el 22ndo y 24to presidente, siendo la única persona en servir un segundo término luego de haber sido derrotado después de su primer periodo como presidente. El presidente Grover Cleveland declaró en su segundo mensaje de inauguración de marzo de 1893: "Sobre todo, yo sé que hay un Ser Supremo que gobierna los asuntos de los hombres y cuya bondad y misericordia siempre han seguido al pueblo americano y sé que ahora no nos abandonará si con humildad y reverencia buscamos Su poderosa ayuda".
